The Best Spiralizer for your Kitchen – Buyers Guide

Hi, my name Andrea Bird. Like most working professionals, I lead a hectic lifestyle, and like any other professional, I am constantly working hard to juggle work and home. Any working lady will tell you that this is a tall order. After a long day at work, it can be tough to step into the kitchen to prepare a nutritious and tasty meal. However, I was smart enough to purchase a spiralizer after I saw one at a friend’s house. I have to say it was a wise move, as the spiralizer has transformed my life in the kitchen. It has allowed my family and me to enjoy tasty meals that I can concoct within a few minutes.

Of course, when I first purchased the spiralizer, my focus was making salads to go as a side with main dishes. However, I felt spiralizers have more potential and took it upon myself to learn about them and how they can be a kitchen tool that every household should have. Today, family and friends claim I am an expert on spiralizers and their usage. This prompted me to set up a website to educate and help other busy professionals like me. I know from my own experience how challenging it is to handle and manage all spheres of life, but if I can help you save time and money, and also enjoy a healthy diet, it would be a reward enough for me.

What is a Spiralizer?

When I first came across a spiralizer at a friend’s home, I didn’t know what it was for. I assumed it was to make fancy foods and decided that it was not for me. I was hardly able to devote time to bake potatoes; how was I going to concoct something fanciful? However, then on one visit I actually saw the spiralizer in action and saw my friend create faux-pasta with veggies in seconds and vegetable swirls for garnishing and soaps within no time. That is when I realized I need this tool.

So, if you are wondering what is a spiralizer, I am going to explain it to you so that you have a clearer picture of it and how it can benefit you.

A spiralizer is a kitchen tool or gadget that can easily transform fresh vegetables into faux-noodles. It is a tool that is not solely for people keeping a close eye on their carb intake. Rather, it is for everyone, right from home cooks to professional restaurant chefs. It saves time as you don’t have to worry about chopping, dicing, and slicing. It can make practically any hard and firm veggie or fruit into enticing long ribbons.

This tool can be manual or electrical, and it functions like a giant pencil sharpener. Don’t worry it will not take up too much countertop space, as most models are about the size of a toaster. And, using it is very easy and convenient. There is a clamp that holds the vegetable in place and as you crank the handle (if you are using a manual one), the veggie disappears into the chute and comes out the other end in long, curly ribbons.

Each spiralizer comes with special blades to make unique shapes and sizes. Usually, faux-noodles and faux-fettuccine are standard in most spiralizers. So, it can be a blessing for those who are on a gluten-free diet. It gives them more eating options than trying to figure out how to avoid grains. Spiralizers also are a boon for people on grain-free and carb-free diets. So, if you are looking to embrace a slimmer and healthier lifestyle, you should definitely invest in a spiralizer. You won’t regret it.
